Livery
Swanston Farm offers DIY Grass Livery only for horse owners. With a variety of tracks around the 700 acre farm and endless hacking up into the 25,000 acres of Pentland Hills Regional Park, Swanston Farm is a great location for horse owners. There are regular visiting farriers and qualified instructors who provide services for liveries at Swanston. The Livery follows a Faecal Worm Egg Count (FWEC) programme run by advising equine vets Central Equine Vets as well as a mandatory Strangles testing and a 14-day quarantine procedure for new equine arrivals and bio-security policy in order to keep our Livery yard free from Strangles, EHV and Equine Flu. It is mandatory for all horses at Swanston Farm to be fully vaccinated against Strangles and Equine Flu, be microchipped and have a passport.
PLEASE NOTE that if you are not a Swanston Farm Livery but wish to ride from Swanston Farm onto the Pentland Hills Regional Park you will need to contact our office for permission and will be directed to a designated parking area. Due to our bio-security policy, non-liveries are not permitted to use the equestrian facilities or ride through the Livery Yard. Thank you for your consideration.

Facilities
Swanston Livery benefits from an indoor arena, a 60m x 30m all-weather outdoor arena, a cross-country jumps field and Loddon stables.
All fields have galvanised steel water troughs and the grazing is rich and varied. Our large fields are kept with small-herd grazing, reducing damage to pasture through over-grazing and allowing Swanston Livery horses the room to live a more natural life. In winter, ad-lib hay and haylage is available for the horses in the fields and during the Spring and Summer months fields are harrowed.
Please note: we are not a riding school and are unable to facilitate trekking or lessons.
